Effective from: 07/05/2019
Decision:
1.1 This is a proposal for the dedication of a
public footpath in Dummer, between Up Street and Footpath 2. The
dedication has been offered by the landowner. The route is
currently a permissive footpath.
1.2 The line of the route subject to dedication runs adjacent to
the official line of Footpath 2; the southern end of Footpath 2 is
currently impassable due to permanent obstruction. This is a long
standing anomaly on the Definitive Map and dedicating the new route
will enable it to be resolved.
1.3 It is recommended that the dedication be accepted. The
dedication can then be followed by a Public Path Order under
Section 118 Highways Act 1980 to extinquish the obstructed length
of Footpath 2.
