Councillor Jackie Porter spoke at the meeting to raise queries about the Track and Trace programme and tackling the causes of rises in local areas.  She noted that it was critical to engage the public in understanding post-vaccine behaviour.  She inquired about a recent cancellation of immunization and how to avoid it in the future.  She expressed concerns about elderly residents being difficult to reach regarding immunization as withheld number calls are not answered to avoid scams, and how to address this communication issue with GP offices.

The Chairman invited Councillor Jackie Porter to speak who thanked the Education Advisory Panel for their recent efforts.  She inquired about clarity for the community and parents as Perins School in Alresford reopens on 2 December and that all the right pathways are being followed.  The Director of Public Health confirmed that the department, alongside Children’s Services are working to address, ensure, and promote community understanding.

The Chairman invited Councillor Jackie Porter to speak and she shared her concern regarding schools over the lockdown period and the way in which children can access schools. Parents are finding a disparity in terms of what is being offered in terms of visiting new schools- some settings are encouraging people to visit, but many are not.  She hoped that firm, consistent advice will be shared soon with schools. 

It was agreed that Councillor Patricia Stallard would pick up on this query following the meeting, with Councillors Jackie Porter and Roz Chadd, as well as the Director of Public Health, as there was no official national position at the current time.

The Chairman invited Councillor Jackie Porter to speak and she inquired about the role of the Director of Public Health on Safety Advisory groups.  Councillor Porter asked if directives could be takes across the county to prevent duplicate work and inconsistent decision making from local authorities.  The questions would be answered by the Director of Public Health in the context of upcoming items in the meeting.
