Exclusion of the Press and Public

Members are asked to consider passing the following motion:

 

That, under the provisions of Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended by the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, the press and public be excluded for the consideration of the following items on the grounds that the reports(s) contain or there may otherwise be disclosed information which is defined as exempt in Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 and that in all the circumstances of the case the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

Minutes:

The press and public were excluded from the meeting during the following two items of business, as it was likely, in view of the nature of the business to be transacted or the nature of the proceedings, that if members of the  public were present during that item there would be disclosure to them of exempt information within Paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972, being information relating to any individual (paragraph 1) or information which is likely to reveal the identity of an individual (2) and, further,  that in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

(a) To consider the complaint made against the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire.

 

(b) To consider additional comments received by the complainant (Appendix 1).

 

(c) To consider additional comments received by the complained against (Appendix 2).

Minutes:

Councillors Tony Jones and Ken Muschamp joined the meeting at this item.

 

Members considered a report outlining the complaint, including comments received from the complainant and complained against. Following consideration of the report and its content, Members reached a unanimous determination in respect of the complaint made.
