The functions of
the County Council include adopting and changing the Constitution,
approving the budget and setting the Council Tax, approving the
County Council’s pay statement, agreeing and adopting county
wide strategies and Plans, such as the Hampshire
Minerals and Waste Plan, adopting the Members Allowances Scheme,
the election of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Leader of the
County Council, making appointments to Committees, Standing Panels,
and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Authority, determining Motions from
Members and Reports and Recommendations from the Leader and
Executive and receiving general questions from Members.
