Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education
Purpose of committee
The Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education supports the effective provision of religious education and collective worship in schools. SACRE works with the Local Authority to review existing provision of religious education and promote community cohesion. The Council is comprised of four groups, representing religions other than the Church of England, the Church of England, Teachers’ Associations, and the Local Authority, and also a number of co-opted members.
